Novice Lincoln - Douglas Debate Camp
(3 day camp - $35/ student)
Lincoln - Douglas style debate is one-on-one and focuses on the underlying values and ideas that affect the world around us. In this camp, students will learn the basics of Lincoln Douglas debate including: argumentation, research skills, and an introduction to the philosophical background of the 2015/2016 NCFCA resolution. By the time the camp is over, students will have written one affirmative and one negative case and will have participated in three practice debate rounds.

Advanced Lincoln - Douglas Debate Camp
(3 day camp - $25/student)
In the advanced track of "That's Debatable!" Lincoln - Douglas students will spend more time with the instructors brainstorming issues and applications surrounding the 2015/2016 NCFCA resolution. Additional topics will be discussed such as: higher level refutation, complex case structures, developing powerful voting issues and discovering your debate "persona". This class can also serve as "fast track", appropriate for beginning students interested in competition or students who have prior debate experience. On Friday, Advanced Track Lincoln - Douglas students will participate in three rounds of debate with students in both tracks. While it is recommended that the advanced student come to camp with a prepared affirmative and negative case, there will be home assignments during the week and independent research is recommended so that the student will be fully prepared to debate on the last day.
